My recent paintings employ the use of non-traditional media and mark-making processes. I'm interested in asking questions about material relationships as well as how to be innovative in their applications. Utilitarian supplies from hardware, fabric and thrift stores as well as cast-offs from trash piles are re-purposed as substrates and paints. Unrelated materials are intuitively combined into harmonious works. My palette is inspired by the spectrum of these materials initiating a dialogue between substrate and surface.
